A team of Japanese researchers announced that in a more or less close future, mobile phones will somehow be our own avatars. The team is formed by researchers at the ATR (Advanced Telecommunications Research) and Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro of Osaka University. Indeed, they have made a concept phone in the form of a humanoid. Elfoid named, this mobile phone has a head, face, torso and upper limbs. Equipped with a camera can reproduce Elfoid expressions of our faces. Its loudspeaker is in its head and an LED light is located at its torso. Elfoid is actually a miniature version of a humanoid who calls himself Telenoid R1.
The precursors of the project include the output of this phone in 5 years with more features. The goal is to take phone communication to a new dimension.
