Awesome and useless.

iRing is a small device the shape of a ring that connects the mobile phone, instead of the original charger. This done, place the phone on a table called yield surface fitted to certain establishments. This table transmits energy to the ring load the laptopimmediately. Everything is done wirelessly. Iring is not only compatible with mobilephones, it is also with computers and music players. The device is free, as well as the service.

It must ring this charger Powerkiss Finnish group. Iring was tested in the Finnish capitalHelsinki and will soon be available in 30 airports across the Europe.

I personaly find this stupid. In Europe, we have a cool thing, it's called the.. Europe. Since this year, all manufacturer (even Apple) have to use an "universal charger". In other words, all phone in Europe can be charged with a micro-usb cable. I don't know how it is in America, but to my mind, it make this things useless.
And yeah, the name is fucking lame.

  3. I agree with Jay, who needs cables when you can have this thing integrated in a phone and charge it wireless

  4. hows the "wirkungsgrad"?

  6. I think the ring shape is stupid, but it's a neat concept. In America we still use different kinds of chargers because our consumers are stupid and will pay for it. Although we are getting closer to one universal cable. But again, easy charging in public places without having to plug anything in is a great idea.

  9. Yeah, I don't really see any substantial benefit over just a charger, and I've also seen charging stations in shops and bars that have connectors for most modern phones.

  10. I think I'll make a post about the concept of air power transmission. Like mac-and-me suppose, there are a lot of loss. And Kyle should understand why the shape is a ring.
    Erf, I suppose.

  11. Oh how I need this in my life. My blackberry's battery dies so fast it's not even funny. I hate carrying around a usb charger or even the actual wall charger itself. I need to get one these. You may have just made my battery concerns worry free. Thanks.
